Dr. Jay Sloop, Upper Columbia Conference Health Ministries Director, disappeared Tuesday while walking in Kiev, Ukraine.
Sloop went first to Serbia to consult with the local SDA Union on setting up a lifestyle center outside of Belgrade, and then on to the Ukraine with a team of health professionals to consult with Adventist leadership on developing the Kiev Medical Center.
Sloop went for an early-morning walk around 7 a.m., local time Tuesday. Prior to leaving the Union guest room where he was staying, he arranged with his roommate to meet at the Ukrainian Union Health Ministry Director’s apartment for breakfast in about 45 minutes. He did not return from his walk.
The 77-year-old Sloop has been missing now for nearly 80 hours. Please pray for Dr. Sloop’s safe return and for his family in this traumatic, uncertain situation.
