Brazilian Conference Trains Hundreds in Health Ministries

Over 400 church members, including  health professionals, 80 pastors and 100 SDA school directors and science teachers, were trained in the principles of healthy living and outreach, at the Missão & Cura (Mission and Healing) program, near Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Second Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) Literature Evangelist Congress took place December 2 through 7, 2014, at the Birchwood Hotel near Johannesburg, South Africa. It was a vibrant and exciting meeting, attended by almost 1,000 delegates from throughout the Division. The conveners were Pastors Howard Faigao and Super Moesi, director of the General Conference (GC) and SID Publishing Ministries Departments respectively.

Spirituality and Health Congress of Adventist Health Professionals

Over 400 Adventist health professionals and students, from Brazil and surrounding countries met in Bento Gonçalves, Brazil, eager to learn more on how to model Christ in their work place as well as to commit themselves to a life of service. Drs. Peter Landless and Viriato Ferreira encouraged the group to allow the love of God to be seen in them, whether they worked in clinical practice, lab work or in community service. The meeting was strongly supported by local Church leaders.

Amidst the Flames--Kiev Adventist Christian Medical Center

This recently opened institution is located a few kilometers from the heart of Kiev where more than 30 people have been killed in the civil unrest that is shaking Ukraine. While many have fled the city, the staff of our Center remain faithfully sharing the healing love of Jesus.

Yury Bondarenko, MD, MPH, medical director, shares this powerful testimony. In spite of the turmoil, 20 people attended an evening program on Healthy Sleep. Following the close of the last evening, a 39 year woman came to Dr. Yury to thank him and concluded “especially the spiritual part of the program.” He answered with a “praise the Lord.”

Long Thanh Health Expo in Vietnam

[Information provided by To Phuong, Health Ministries Director for Vietnam]  Long Thanh Health Expo was the first health event organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Vietnam for the purpose of exposing the general public the Adventist lifestyle. This was held on 8-9 December 2013 in Phuoc Thai high school and clinic. This was the first time the church conducted a program in a government place.

Sadly, after more than a week of being missing in Kiev, Dr. Jay Sloop has not been found. The Sloop family is requesting that those who choose could fast and pray that this mystery can be solved. All that possibly can be done humanly is being done. Only God knows, and members of His family around the world are earnestly seeking His will.
