Dr Viriato Ferreira and his wife, Judith Marianne, also a medical doctor, have been involved in medical missionary work since 1994. They have 3 children. Dr Ferreira received his medical degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He worked in emergency medicine and after completing a Fellowship program in Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine in the USA. The family moved to Portugal and co-founded the Portuguese Association of Preventive Medicine, an organization that provides medical care, health education and is setting up the first Lifestyle Center in that country.
Dr Ferreira served as Director of Health Ministries at the Inter-European Division since 2006. He has extensively promoted programs such as Health Expos, in Europe, North and South America and Africa. He is a frequent contributor on TV health programs.
