Ricardo Whyte, MD

Medical Director of the Chemical Dependency Unit

Dr. Whyte did his Undergraduate training at Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster Massachusetts where he graduated Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in Biochemistry.  Dr. Whyte earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington Connecticut.  Dr. Whyte obtained training in Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry in Loma Linda University’s Department of Psychiatry.  He obtained further training in Addiction Psychiatry and  graduated from a one year Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles.   Dr. Whyte now serves as the Medical Director of the Chemical Dependency Unit at the Behavioral Medicine Center of  Loma Linda University.  He also serves as the Medical Director of the Outpatient Psychiatry Service of the  Loma Linda University Psychiatry Department at the Behavioral Health Institute.  Dr. Whyte is married to the beautiful Florence V. Whyte and they have a lovely daughter Alexi G. Whyte.  In addition to a passion for helping people overcome addictive tendencies, Dr. Whyte enjoys Biblical Integration into practice, and helping couples relate and communicate more effectively.
