Dr. E. Albert Reece, Dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, is a distinguished researcher, academic and administrator. His particular fields of interest and research include pregnancy, diabetes and obesity. He is a sought-after international speaker and has a passion to sound the alarm, and encourage advocacy in combating the pandemic of obesity and diabetes. He will be talking on "Diabesity – a target in the war on NCDs". He will be presenting his own research and cutting-edge concepts and approaches to equip attendees in assessment and prevention strategies of obesity and diabetes. A compelling group that is highlighted is, importantly, those with no voice and also no choice – the unborn babies!

Susan M Baker, PT, DSc, is a physical therapist, educator and administrator. Currently she is the Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in the School of Medicine at the University of Maryland. During the course of her professional work she has developed expertise in clinical practice where she works with persons who have movement disorders with an emphasis on health education. Susan is married to Dr. Delbert Baker, who is a Vice President at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. They have three adult sons and three adorable grandchildren.
